Excellent for the price
Great, definitely buy a larger battery
Classic beetle style and brawn fuse together with the FTX Bugsta, the latest heavy-duty 4wd off road vehicle from FTX. Using the same chassis platform as the hugely popular Carnage Truggy, the Bugsta captures best of buggies and trucks, with a bit of monster thrown in for good measure!
The 4wd shaft drivetrain features metal diff gears and front universal driveshafts, while an integrated slipper helps protect the drivetrain from possible damage under power. With adjustable turnbuckles all round and large bore oil filled shock absorbers the Bugsta can be tuned to suit you or the surface.
Control is via an Etronix 2.4ghz EX2 radio system, with power being provided via a brushed 550 motor, electronic speed control and a Voltz 1800mah NiMH battery, with steering being handled by a waterproof 3kg metal geared steering servo.
Want an r/c vehicle that is as much fun as it looks then the FTX Bugsta is the ride for you!

Great car. Delivered on time and we had a damaged shell but it was replaced straight away.
Bought this on a whim after years not having an RC car, which were always Tamiya. I liked the building but wanted a quick fix :)
Up and running 10 minutes after unboxing and was really pleased. Great specification for what it costs, with plenty of upgrades (and spares) readily available.
Everyone that expressed interest could not believe the value.
Would easily buy one again and the service from RCGeeks was top class.
Wasn't honestly sure what to expect but this buggy really delivered. Perfect as a first RC car for older kids, it's really quick, works out of the box, great on rough terrain and with the right battery it'll go like a train. On that note make sure to get at least a 4000mah battery as it'll only last 12-15 mins otherwise with a child ragging it.
I’ve been using this with my kids and it’s a great model - 4wd and big wheels takes you over most terrain, very stable handling, good distance on the transmitter ( still works when the car is almost out of sight) and a reasonable turn of speed. The included battery and charger are a bit basic but can be upgraded. You can change the mode of the ESC to support a 2s LIpo as it has a LVC built in, which would make it quite a bit quicker. Parts supply is also very good and several ‘Hop ups’ are available. The only reason I took a star off is the battery and charger and the suspension arm holders, which do break quite easily, though this may be intentional to save the suspension arms.
