Electric Cars

Remote control cars can offer entertainment, reliability, accessibility, and more recently fantastic speed. Modern 'brushless' electric cars can reach nearly 70mph in only a few seconds. Are you new to the world of RC cars? We suggest you watch our range introduction video below.

What is a Remote Control Car?

An 'RC' car commonly refers to a radio (or now more commonly remote) controlled vehicle that can be controlled from a distance using a handheld transmitter. RC Geeks specialise in 'scale' models from 1/5 down to 1/32, all propelled by electric motors. These range in body and chassis style from buggies to truggies, monster trucks and trophy trucks as well as road based drift and touring cars.

Which one is right for me?

Our electric remote control cars are available for on or off-road. On-road cars are commonly 1/10th in scale and feature realistic looking bodies and wheels. Modellers commonly customise their cars by switching the body for another type. RC Drifting is an area that we are particularly interested in as it allows on-road cars to compete at drifting much like in real life as is popular in Japan. Electric drift cars often feature hard rubber tyres and locked differentials to allow for good drifting characteristics.

Do I need anything else? And can I upgrade?

The electric cars on our website will show if any additional items are required for operation, and many will have combo options available so you can customise your kit to include a battery, charger or radio gear if necessary. RC Geeks support their electric cars with a wide range of spares for each model, these can be found on the 'item spares' tab for the relevant model. We also offer a wide range of hop-ups in the 'relevant hop-up' tab should you wish to source compatible wheels, tyres, bodies or electronics.

What's hot in Electric Cars right now?

What is all this noise about Brushless?

Electric cars are often defined as 'brushed' or 'brushless', with the difference being their motor technology. Brushed remote control cars feature brushed motors and are often powered by a 7.2v Nimh battery and are most suited for the entry level user. Brushless RC Cars feature extremely powerful 'brushless' motors and often more powerful speed controllers to match. To get maximum performance these are often powered by Li-Polymer batteries which can supply lots of power instantly for quick acceleration and top-speed.
