DJI Mavic Pro Unboxing and first-look

When we received our first DJI Mavic quadcopter we were super excited to open it up and have a play. If you are yet to buy or receive a Mavic drone, we thought we'd share with you the unboxing experience and to give you a heads up of what is included in the DJI Mavic Pro Fly More Combo package. Mavic Pro Fly More Combo Packaging The fly more combo package comes in a standard brown cardboard box with 3 smaller boxes inside. The 3 smaller boxes contain:

• The DJI Mavic
• Fly more accessories
• Shoulder bag

The DJI Mavic Pro Unboxing Upon opening the Mavic Pro box, you can immediately see the aircraft, the controller and a box of accessories, neatly placed in a satin black mold. Here is the content of the Mavic Pro box:

• DJI Mavic aircraft (comes with Panasonic 16GB micro SD card already inserted)
• Mavic remote controller
• Battery charger & power cable
• 2 x drawstring bags, each containing 2 pairs of foldable propellers.
• USB to Micro USB cable
• 2 x additional phone cables (lightning connector & Type C connector)
• Quick start guide and manuals

The DJI Mavic Pro Aircraft

The Mavic comes in its folded position with a silicon rubber cup on the camera protector. To remove this you simply peel it off. The arms fold out quickly and easily. The props (like those seen on the S900 and S1000 series) also fold out very quickly and easily. On one of the sides is a USB port protected by a rubber cover. At this stage, without having tested it, I assume is for updating firmware (apologies I haven't had my manicure this week). On the other side is another rubber plug where you can access the micro SD card and switch between WIFI and RC mode. The underside of the aircraft sees a large heat sink plate with integrated Vision Position System, similar to that seen on the Phantom and Inspire series. The propellers use a similar quick release system as the Phantom 4 with the 3 locking pins. The camera comes with a clear plastic protector that you can choose to either fly with or without. Behind the camera is a small gimbal lock to help protect it from rattling around during transport. The gimbal lock simply slides out from the bottom. The takes up the majority of the space in the aircraft and also holds a lot of the aircraft information on the sticker. The battery simply drops down into the tray and sits flush with the rest of the aircraft. At the back of the aircraft you can see the LED module that indicates the aircraft's status.

Fly More Combo Contents

Inside of the Fly More package is a neatly arranged collection of accessories. Here is a list of the accessories you get in the Fly More package:

• Battery Charging Hub
• Car Charger
• 2 x Intelligent Flight Battery (you also get one already in the aircraft)
• Battery to Power Bank Adapter
• 2 x boxes of props that contain 2 pairs each.

DJI Mavic Pro Remote Controller

The antennas and phone grip arms fold out and can be adjusted to fit a variety of smartphone sizes. The smart phone cable is neatly tucked away in the left hand phone grip. We fitted a standard iPhone 6 and it fitted very nicely (had to remove iPhone case) The Mavic's sport mode switch is found on the right hand side of the controller.

DJI Mavic Shoulder Bag

The bag measures 22cm x 16cm x 12cm and comes with an attachable, adjustable shoulder strap for easy carrying. The majority of the bag is made from water-resistant polyester and nylon, giving you peace of mind if you get caught out in the rain. If you don't want it slung over your shoulder, there is a belt loop on the back of the bag if you wanted to carry the drone on your belt. There is also a comfortable leather handle on the top of the bag with the word Mavic engraved on it giving it a sleek but subtle look. It has plenty of zipped compartments and mesh nets on the outer sides to help store your accessories. Inside the bag is a single divider (like you would find in a standard camera bag) to protect the Mavic from rubbing up against the controller in transport.
