Rastar 1/14th scale car review
The Rastar range of cars make the excellent gift for kids. Their low prices, stunning detail and impressive durability means you can dabble in the remote-control world for the first time and see if they like it without too much of an expense.
Inspired by the Mercedes G63 AMG, this officially licensed, 1/14 scale model packs a handful of awesome features and provides hours of fun for a great price.
The remote controller is really easy to use with a simple forward/backward button and a left/right button. It's reasonable control range make suitable for indoor use or around a small garden. Power is only used when a button is being pressed making the batteries last longer.
The Rastar range offers supercars, hypercars and your typical work-horses such as the legendary 4×4 Landrover. Suitable for kids or enthusiasts who are looking for a realistic working scale model.
Packaged in a ‘collector’ style, windowed retail box, this model is ideal for anyone who likes to leave their models still boxed on a shelf. It also features a stunning level of interior and exterior detail from the full sized car.
Love the Rastar range of RC cars. The level of detail is so accurate. I use the cars for ornamental purposes rather than racing them. I love sports cars and this is a great way of indulging my love of luxury cars.
This new Rastar RC model in 1:14 scale accurately represents the latest generation Mercedes-Benz G-Class. This particular model is the popular G63 version. It has many scale details on the exterior and interior which are very impressive. This latest version now has opening front doors and rear door which means you can use the car as a display model when you are not using it as an RC car.
Quality of the assembly is good. It also has an upgraded 2.4GHz handset which means it has a small fixed antenna. Very compact when transporting the handset and no long antenna to worry about.
It is quite easy to control the car although you'll need quite a bit of space. Although it is based on the iconic G-Class off-roader the scale version only has rear wheel drive and limited ground clearance so requires relatively smooth and flat surfaces to run on. Having said that I took my car outside and it performed well on dirt tracks with small rocks.
I would definitely recommend this product but just don't have expectations that it will the best off-road performer. You can see a full unboxing, close-up look at all details and testing video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZPjy1AkiWc&t=2s
